Cultural Club is back!

Students can come to Portable 10 on Thursdays to learn about different cultures.

This is a fun way to get to know different areas of the world!

**Please note:  There has been a small change in schedule below.  Mexico will be on Feb 13 and the Philippines will be on Apr 23.

In accordance with ISD precautions, Cultural Club will not take place on March 12 or March 19.

On November 14th, students learned about the Netherlands and the history of Dutch tiles.  They had a chance to make their own as well.

On November 21st, students visited Vietnam.  They learned about the currency Vietnam uses, how to say good morning "chào bu?i sáng", hello "xin chào", and thank you "c?m on".  They also made fish out of palm leaves, which is a common recess and playtime activity.

On December 12th, the club traveled to Norway.  Students in grades 1-3 worked on a collage and students in grades 4-5 made paper heart ornaments.

On January 16, students returned from their 3 snow days and visited Nigeria!

On January 23, students traveled to China to celebrate the Year of the Rat.  They made rat bookmarks and did some Chinese calligraphy.

On February 6, students traveled to Japan where they learned about Japanese culture and made pinwheels using Origami.

On February 27, students continued their travels to Sweden.  They saw photos, listened to music from ABBA, and made Easter Chickens which is a very common craft done in Sweden.

On March 5, students traveled to Bulgaria where they made a craft called Martenitsa.  Learn more about this here.
